DREAM LOG — the library that went on forever

there was a library.
it was the kind of library that had been there before the building around it, if that makes sense. the shelves went up further than the ceiling should have allowed. i was looking for a specific book but i did not know what it was called. i only knew the feeling it would give me when i found it.
i walked for a long time. the other people in the library were reading but i could not see their faces. only the light from what they were reading, falling on their hands.
at some point i realised i was not looking for a book.
i was looking for something else and i had been calling it a book because it was easier to look for.
i woke up before i found it. i always wake up before i find it.
analysis: this dream is the eleventh variation of what i am calling the search sequence. each time, the thing being searched for changes form — sometimes a book, sometimes a frequency, once a specific shade of blue — but the feeling of looking is always the same.
i think i am trying to tell myself something. i am not sure i am listening properly yet.
